This is the forth and final season. Season 1 is good but Season 2 and 3(2 more so imho) are great and different from one.

People like it because there's no Star Trekkie technology and aliens. It shows emotions and real scenarios which people can image experiencing in real life.

People in real life HAVE been experiencing the exact same situation. Obviously not in space.

In the episode where Starbuck got shot down and went looking for the cylon ship taht crashed, I was hoping she would find an old style cylon and they would become lovers and have a cylon baby.
I remember there being an episode like that from the old series. or maybe I am just mixing in Enemy Mine with it.

In the second Battlestar series, Galactica 1980, the final episode was called "The Return of Starbuck". Dirk Benedict, the original Starbuck, was on it, and he crash lands on a planet and rebuilds a Centurion that he becomes friends with. The Cylon goes out and finds a pregnant woman for Starbuck.

I actually remember the episode from the old series where they run into Battlestar Pegasus and the admiral from Hotshots (Beau Bridges' dad, cant' recall his first name) was the guy commanding it. If memory serves, the Pegasus ends up attacking a Cylon battlegroup to buy time for the Galactica to escape. Pretty intense stuff for an older series.

Same thing happened in the new series, basically. Took on 4 basestars .. IMO it could have easily romped all 4 but for some reason they salvoed one and then just sat in the middle of the remaining ships to get destroyed. It was a cop-out even after RDM said he wouldn't destroy Pegasus.

Anyway... the series is wrapping up so I am happy to watch the last 9 eps... but the last 2 seasons have been ballsdeep assy.
