I don't know what you've taken, but if it was Ritalin...anything is better than that. I can recommend Adderall (regular, or extended release) and this new one seems to be very similar.

If you have a good doctor who is aware of your overall health, you should be fine with whatever they prescribe...but be sure to let them know of any side effects you experience, because often something as simple as a dosage change or taking the med with food can change them for the better.

Bottom line is, don't let fear keep you from getting the treatment you need.
The last doctor said I was depressed and prescribed a depression medicine but that really doesn't seem to work cause I think my depression is caused by my add. My therapist agrees with me so I am going to see another Doctor who might do what I want instead.

To answer the question above, I do not smoke at all. I am a great eater though
