    How I Spent My Summer Vacation, by baddog (Sturgis pics)

    While the rest of you went for the luxury of Hollywood/Miami, I made my long overdue trek to Sturgis, SD. If you ride a motorcycle, of any make, you owe it to yourself to try this (it is better if you don't trailer your bike in).

    Thanks to fr0gman and his lovely wife for the hookup on the campsite, it made it all the more enjoyable.

                                      Yes, hated it. 150,000 people is too many for a town 2 blocks by 2 blocks. I ended up taking one of the back streets so I could get out of there before my bike died from over-heating.

                                      If they would ban trailering bikes in, you would hear no complaints from me.

                                              Yeah, Hulett it's a trip. If I recall bikes were parked for probably a mile outside of the town, maybe more. I had heat issues when riding into Sturgis, I had to shut my bike off and push it at times (it was approximately 102 every day in 2001).

                                                                          I was wondering why so many people were revving their engines when I realized they were just trying to keep them running.

                                                                          I learned a valuable lesson about fuel injection too. Don't fill your tank to the brim, thne let it sit out in the hot sun while you eat breakfast. They don't seem to like that very much.
