    Poll: who has a lawyer?

Hello, also wondering how many of you have ever consulted a lawyer either before you started or after you started your website?
I've read up on what to post on my page and how I should make sure I get proper id from models and how to follow the US 2257 regulations. But I am wondering how far into this should I go (if at all) before consulting a lawyer to make sure I have all my bases covered. Thanks all!

Always better (and less expensive) to be safe than sorry (expensive and even possible loss of freedom)!

I'm in this biz since 2004. and I have never talked or considered a lawyer but in the last few months with all those law changes in US and my country I will probably have consultations with a lawyer in the near future.

Yes, I've always had a lawyer since the early days I started as a hobby on the side. That was late 90's. I run all of the shit past him just to make sure I am in compliance with state, federal, and local jazz.

But it's also nice for the C&D orders to have him on retainer, as well you can refer all legal bullshit to them. Someone contacts you, and you flip em a card to the attorney and tell them to have a nice day.

Does this have to do with getting my own content copyrighted? I do plan on creating all my own content. I plan on starting the site initially with still shots and some video.
By the way thanks to everyone for answering and sharing info. Really appreciate it!!

Also, anyone hear of or use law insurance? Its offered alot here in TX and was wondering if its useful, worth it, or not pratical for this business. Seems like an affordable way to get legal stuff done.
