I enjoy a good burger. I just found out about this event on the news a couple days ago. It's called the National Hamburger Festival. (http://www.hamburgerfestival.com/) I went there today and I thought it was pretty cool. They had 12 different hamburger joints servin' it up. I tried three different ones (locally owned):
1. Cheeseburger In Paradise - Great Burger, juicy.
2. Menches - The best burger I had there and possibly the BEST I've ever had.
3. Hodges - The meat was fucking spoiled. It was ok though, but I don't recommend it.
I thought the cool thing about the festival was the "Hamburger Hearings". They had a couple corporate sponsors in their jury, a real judge and represenatives from four different families fighting to have the recognition of the true inventor of the hamburger. Barney Fife and Gomer Pyle were there to keep things in control. The "Hamburger Commission" came back with a different pick for each of the inventors. Verdict was a hung jury. It was all for show but cool. I wish they took it seriously and actully did real research to determine the real inventor. They told everyone to vote at their website for the true inventor.
