I tested the photo with a few of our programs for you and here's my opinion. There are multiple areas in the photo that show definite signs of tampering. Some of these could be artifacting from the jpeg compression but there are a few areas that go beyond this and show probable "modifications" after the fact; most noteably in certain areas of the newspaper and the throat and ear areas.Last edited by EdgeXXX; 08-13-2006, 12:48 PM..

the newspaper head line is obvious
they fucked with what was behind him on the left (what you pointed out).
plus the contrast of him (the brightness and color) and the background (a bed?) dont match, a flash or some other similar ligjhting wouldve brightened up the background or at least the edge of the bed to the right of the paper.

My feeling is that the picture is real, but the newspaper in his hand could have been created BEFORE he went to hospital, with those pictures taken before he got the operation... thus allowing them to have his 80th birthday party and whatnot. They could have typeset that page at any time. That isn't exactly a newspaper with breaking new in it.

is that the photograph of him is very convincing and entirely plausable. I do not beleive that you can dispute the photo with the white edges theory, because it is entirely possible that thats just how it looks. And I scoped out the collar and the edges are ever so slightly lighter. Perhaps there was a television on near him? That could be possible, could it not? As for the edges, everything is very clean, so if it is a photochop, than It was done with somebody who is good. The only thing that I could see that made me suspicious is the fact that some of the items in the newspaper do not line up. If you look very closely 4x and up, you can tell that some of the text does not line up correctly, Most noticeably the logo at the top that looks hand written. It is at a different angle than the top. So, my expert opinion... Photo is plausable, I think it is not a "total chop", but the newspaper in the photo is suspicious. As for the artifacting, thats pretty much how it looks, do it yourself holding a newspaper and you will see. And I assume whoever did this would have not tampered with it after they compressed it... That would just be unprofessional.

anyway.. this very subject was on CNN today and there are a lot of people suggesting its faked. they were pointing to the shadow under his thumb being wrong and so on. the problem with searching for a conspiracy is that they are easy to find and "facts" start becoming very subjective.Comment
