    DRM - Downloaded videos password protected??

    Many sites like videosz.com and others have their videos password protected even after a user have downloaded them to their PC. When they try to play a downloaded video they have to enter username and password. And me like it

    How do you make that? What software do you use for that.
    I heard about "digital right management" protection is that the software they use?

    If so, who do you recommend? What are you using?

              If you want everything in-house you need a server with Windws Server 2003, and the DRM software (which is free, but it's quite some hassle to get it), see also: http://www.devx.com/security/Article/7868/1954?pf=true

              You then need someone to write the app for you to add the DRM to your videos and to issue licenses to the viewers (it has some basic samples included, but if you want to connect it to your user db, etc, you need some programming skills to develop it to your needs).

              If you don't want to do it yourself, you can use a third party, but you'll usually have to pay them per license issued, so if you can I reccomend to get everything setup yourself.

              Alot of people say that customers don't like DRM and will stay away from your sites, etc. This is not true, if you have good (exclusive) content your customers won't mind the DRM restrictions, we have been using DRM for over a year (for ppv as well as subscription models), and it can absolutly increase your profit.

                  How much does it coast to use it by third party companies?
                  Who offers that service?
