I was just like you & still have a hard time disciplining myself enough NOT to do that anymore.
Perfection is impossible & changes schedules, costs more, bloats things, etc.
Read this book, its free online... definitely got me going in the right direction, geared toward web development in general but also applies to a lot of other things
