no Bullshit, right hand to god. Happens all the time. Items this old tend to drastically range in value depending on what the buyer knows about the item and the story connected to it along with what it would mean to their collection. These items are a dime a dozen in europe, if you do your homework and ask some professionals occasionally you find that needle in a haystack. the marking and other things tell a story that bulk buyers and resellers may not know because they don't specialize in that era.Originally posted by evilclown
BULLSHIT!
Another guy I asked about the ring that quoted me $975 was told he had a counterfeit coin and offered $16 for it when he started. Turned out it was worth $750. You just never know.
wooohooo, and shame on you for trying to piss on my parade. shame!Comment

Search "roman rings" on ebay and you can see most sell for under $200. The only ones that sell for over $1000 are very unique and one of a kind. Your X ring appears to be more common and sells for about $30-$75. Your seller got market value for the ring. There is no way you could resell that ring for $2800. Impossible. MOST collectors are not that stupid. You tell a tall tale my friend. I wouldn't have said anything but your lie about the offer price was so outrageous I just a had to comment. Just more GFY bullshit.Originally posted by RayVegano Bullshit, right hand to god. Happens all the time. And what the fuck would i gain by telling that i found a needle in a haystack...it seems like an ordinary ring as i said in my own words (a dime a dozen), but the marking which to the untrained or uninterested eye may seem like decore of a common item are actually a clue to a story much more interesting. I have nothing to gain here by saying anything...at $30 or $2000 it's a 2000 year old roman soldiers ring and I am proud to wear it even if it were worth $1.Last edited by RayVega; 08-11-2006, 05:57 PM.Comment

I really don't know what you have to gain. Some people are just born liars who lie to get attention. Mommy did not give raybaby enough attention as a child? Anyways enjoy your cheap ass ring.Originally posted by RayVegaAnd what the fuck would i gain by telling that i found a needle in a haystack...Comment

all that matters is that its cool to you. all history including roman history is pretty cool to learn about with the exception of american history it's so boring and short. if nothing else you can enjoy it and tell a cool story or at least put an x on a ho's head for getting out of pocket.Comment

Sweet, make sure you switch on the power converter to optimize the temporal effects, going back that far creates loss of photonic energy within the cerebrum. I wouldn't want you to be a vegatable in 1 AD.Originally posted by SomeCreepLuuckyyyyy!
