The problem is that not many return quality, or at least quantity to make up for the crap they send. So I end up sending a lot more than I should to people who don't deserve it.

well, to be perfectly honest, i think if one doesnt make it to your frontpage toplist he has very little chance to get back whats send ... i had your link on my forum and hundreds of galleries posted on dozens of boards and barely got back 20 hits / day in return ... so, i took the links down and stopped sending ... small fishes just dont get what they send heh ?

Not true. I actually send more traffic from the category pages (center column) then the top 200 list on the left (which appears on the homepage and the category pages).

Speaking of your site, i was sending you more than you sent me, but that was last year when your productivity was above 100%. Since the beginning of 2006, you're been getting worse and worse. This past monday, your productivity was 17%. You expect me to match your traffic when you're sending me that?

BTW, you're not sending me much either. Not since May last year have you sent me more than 100 uniques in a day. Yesterday you sent me 7 and I sent you 5. I could see you bitching if it were in the thousands. Small fish? Our trade is almost none existent.

well, thats because i removed your link from my galleries and movie series ... and my forum too ... i did that because i got back less than 20 when i was sending 70+ ... might be a glitch in clickzs, but hey, thats life :P no hard feelings on my end :P

You know Joe, I really can't understand this productivity thing. Even though my sites are also setup to return on productivity, I sometimes wonder who's fault it really is that the trade is not productive. I often ask myself, is it because I just don't have the content surfers are looking for, or is it my design and layout, or is it simply because I am not trading with a compatible site. I mean if a trade is sending me honest clean traffic, is it really his fault that his traffic is not productive on my sites. I'm not taking anyone's side here, but this productivity thing really makes me wonder. I know that I made alot of changes on my sites over the years, and productivity did get better with changes I made, and with the type of sites I trade with. This leads me to think that maybe it's not the fault of the site sending traffic, but the site receiving traffic. And then again maybe, and most probably, I am trading with a site that is not related to my site in any way.

I know that you are a big fish in this business and that your traffic is very productive, but I also think that alot of sites that signup with you are not compatible trades. I think alot just sign up because they heard about you and want to give it a shot, but it doesn't mean that their traffic is crap. It might be crap for your site, but it might be a great trade with another site.

It's the method used. I have a few other sites I own and just use the text "The Uncensored.com" to link back. Their productivity is never below 100% and avg about 135%. Overload had this productivity when we first started, and it lasted a few months. I'd be curious to know what he did differently that caused the drop.

BTW, I don't consider myself a "big fish". I trade with anyone, any size.
