My travel schedule every year since has made it impossible to go back. This year, my schedule allows, but I hear the rooms sell out in less than a day, so unless I'm very lucky with timing, it won't be possible. (I refuse to stay off-premises; that turns a good conference into schlepping hell.)

There is a hotel two blocks away that I usually end up at for that very reason. It's actually kinda nice to be off-site in a way, and the hotel isn't totally bad. I wouldn't let that stop you from going, is what I'm trying to say.
