I'd say content, if your stuff is really good and sets you apart from the rest of the market the word will spread somehow. That's my opinion. Of course a combination of the two is ideal.

For me personally it would be content... but that doesn't necessarily mean the most $$$ in the end. Moneywise you'd have to go with traffic I think.

i'd say you can't have one without the other but seo guys seem to do alright if they use good content or not.

I'd have to say traffic.

A guy can have the nicest, shiniest car in the world for sale at a great price. But if he's got it sitting in the middle of a forest, how many people are gonna buy it?

On the other hand, a used car lot, with mediocre cars can sell a couple a day if they have enough customers coming on the lot.

Overall, I think traffic is king. You can sell anything if you put it in front of people's noses enough.
