You'd be right, had this been an industry with an extremely small number of webmasters and extremely limited information availability.
As it stands, however, you are entirely wrong. There are shitloads of webmasters, most with a relatively tiny piece of the traffic market. Chances of losing a sale to a webmaster you yourself referred are therefore extremely small.
Moreover, this being the internet and all, information spreads easily and quickly. If people don't know about a program now, they probably will in a few weeks if it's relevant to their traffic and the program owners know anything about marketing.
Hell, I'm pretty sure I could make a new program known to several thousands of webmasters within the span of a week without even trying hard.
So basically, people are probably going to find the program anyway. It might as well be you who gets the 5-10% commission on their sales
