Why are Adult DVDs so expensive?

The best deal I can find is $1500 landed for 1000 with no duplicate titles
I think it gets down closer to a dollar if you buy 5000 but you get two of each

Then some of them seem like they will sell them for 70 cents apiece plus the shipping with... "A minimum of five of each titles"

In my day things didn't cost so much that you could hardly make a profit
