    fried laptop

So we had a storm today. I was enjoying the sounds of the rain while working, then all of a sudden..POP. My laptop is fried. It was hooked up to a surge protector and still got fucked, everything else that was on the surge protector wasn't harmed... strange eh? Anyways, i called a repair shop and they said the mother board is prob fried.. gonna cost $400 to fix.

Can anyone think of something else that might be wrong with it? Guy said prob is the motherboard but has to see it to be sure. I'm pretty sure hes gonna rip me a new asshole to fix it.

if you still have the receit for the surge surpressor they will pay replacement costs of the burned equipment.

Gateway is synonymous with piece of shit afterall =( Sorry bout the dead laptop... if it's the mobo, chances are other components could be dead as well, including the CPU at a minimum is caput as well. Power supply maybe; ram is a high possibility as well.
