Economically speaking it must be beneficial for them to use nuclear energy; if they can get the majority of their power requirements met by nuclear power then they can sell even more of their oil to the rest of the world, making even more money in the process. And it doesn?t hurt in the process to have a couple of nukes handy as a deterrent to keep the jewrats in their place.

Many countries use it for peaceful purposes only. Think Japan, Italy, Canada.
But a nutcase like Ahmadinejad who wants to be the leader of all muslims and bring all the non-believers on the right path you can bet that wants it for threatening purposes or even worse.
