Update: He decided he wanted to do escrow this time around so I went with it. He started the escrow on July 13 and put the wrong amount so had to start a new one. The new one was created on July 16. It is now July 27 and the escrow is still "awaiting buyer payment".
Son of scam shows his true nature, a little whiny punk kid who throws a foolish little tantrum at the slightest comment against him.
That's all he has to come at me with is a joke site from back in the 90's. No other real argument, just fake nicks of his supporting him so people don't think he's the only 19 yr old puke on the board.
Son, deal with the facts instead of lame attempts at putting the focus on me or others. Or are you really that much of a wimp? God forbid you ever admit you made a mistake, kid.

Regardless of any banking issue.. YOU'RE still late.. just like all the other people you've had touble with that had their problems and their stories and you didn't give a shit cause YOU were the one "wronged". Man up to it.
Nailed it on point beautifully. Especially the first line of your post.

I wonder if escrow bounced his wire back too.
Brace yourself for more excuses from the kid.
Son of scam, do you really want me to "stfu"? I will if you will. You've made it a point to stick your nose into a thread or two of mine from time to time or posted under me in the odd thread making snotty little comments in the past. I'll gladly "stfu" where you're concerned if you'd only give your word and stick too it, and do some "shutting the fuck up" yourself where I'm concerned.

I guess they mean the beneficiary bank returned the wire as undeliverable.
Usually, I've found, banks make a good faith effort to try and deliver the money, even if you make spelling or say address line mistakes. So unless the swift number was bad, or the account number simply didn't exist and so on, I'd be surprised to see a wire returned.
Many banks fill out the wire form by hand, and then enter in to the system, so it's possible a mistake was made in that process?
I have had tons of wires bounce from the states. Sometimes the bank account is not set up to accept foreign wires and will bounce it back with no reason and no notice. It happens all the time.
As I sit at the Denver airport on a layover....This thread once again grabs my attention.
LET IT BE KNOWN....
Kevin AKA "paterson3713" first contacted me back around the end of April or beginning of May. He's been considering offloading this debt for some time now. I've made him a generous offer which he accepted on the condition that SOS did not pay him the following day.
Since then, Kevin has ignored my follow up requests to close this deal. I then checked with another business associate of his and was told that Kevin and SOS managed to work it out.
Well...Looks like that was not the truth and it also appears that Kevin is not a man of his word since he is still in this position AFTER we had a deal.
Eventually this will end and it will probably end in a very public way. When that happens, I will gladly share more info with you about BOTH parties since neither of them can keep their words on business deals.
UNLESS.....Kevin sells me those domains. Then I would keep his name out of it as a professional courtesy.
BTW Kevin.......Since your word is not worth as much to me these days, my offer just dropped by $500.00
The ball is in your court but I have a feeling that you will continue to ignore me. Apparently my money is no good to you.

Paterson --- loaning money to strangers over the internet isn't the smartest move. In fact it's one of the dummer moves I've seen anyone do in some time.
Sonofscam --- what can I say buddy?.... didn't I see a thread a few months back where you were posting about how well you were doing for being so young? Now I see you're having to borrow money from strangers and risk your domains in the process? Unreal.
What, no banks were willing to loan you some cash? That speaks v olumes right there.
Thousands of strangers do it now through some loan sites...

nothing against you, i am pretty much on your side here... but im 21 years old, and 2 years ago i got a $15k loan for my car..
good luck
and the other guy, no idea what your name is, nore do i care... but wanna loan me $5k also?
Getting a house loan or a car loan is easier then getting $5k cash loan.

Dre, those sites do it as a business. It's different than anyone just loaning a stranger a whack of cash over the net. I have never known such arrangements to end in anything but dispute and bad blood.

What about a $5k business loan?
When I was 18 I got a $2k loan from my bank, paid it off in 1 year. The excuses offered up to me earlier in this thread are pure ballwash.
How many banks would give a 20 year old who is self employed a cash loan? how many 20 year olds have a long credit history so that the bank would feel comfortable giving them a cash loan??
So AaronM will buy them just to piss off SoS? and AaronM talks about "professional courtesy"? hmmm - that shit don't fly with me.
The "professional" thing to do was to call up SoS, put all the shit aside and agree on a monthly pay schedule to get this over with in a clean and mature way.
No more excuses, no more stories and no more drama - just business

I disagree.
Patterson has no obligation to do anything but get back what he has lost. If that means selling the domains to a buyer, so be it. As for the reasons of purchasing the domains, that shouldn't matter. If someone purchased it out of spite and needs to do those things to feel better about themselves, so be it.
It's like the guy who puts his home on the line with a loan. You don't do it unless you are 100% sure you can pay it back.

You are free to think what you like, I respect that. And Patterson are free to sell to who he wants. BUT I still think the other solution would be better. There is no need to make problems bigger than they are and go out on a personal vendetta.
If you loan people money, you should be aware of the risks. Patterson should have his money back, but I think it would be better for all, including the webmaster community in general, if people try to work things out without the drama.

And when you put up your domains as collateral, you should know the risks. He made an agreement and broke it. Patterson could setup a payment program if he wanted to, but why should he. If someone broke an agreement, why would they not break the payment plan?

Like I said, the dont "have" to do any of those things. It's just the reasonable thing to do. There might be a good Reason why SoS dont have the cash, and there might NOT be - who knows. We are only talking a dept of $1800,- to a 20 year old kid. I just dont see a reason to kick him while he is down. But thats just me.

whois shows the domains in paterson's name and the sites are down so sos isn't making money from them.
I made a play at the domains but I was too late. I actually would have just kept the sites up and sold them back to him at the same price on a payment plan.
Guess he couldn't come up with the last $1800 to salvage his online business. Hard to believe he would risk everything he'd worked for just to buy a toy motorcycle.
"WTF, on google you can find the answer to every question in human history, EXCEPT how to convert cams..
1) SOS was broke ass and needed money, see here
2) I loaned him the money and he agreed he'd make monthly payments until it was paid off, 4 months max.
3) In order for me to be safe, he transfered his domains sexfeeder and juliablue to my name, so I could sell them if he didn't pay me back in time.
4) He agreed it would all be paid back by the end of June
5) Also, during all of this, he said he could have paid me back earlier, but he didn't because I wouldn't loan him money to buy his motorcycle he bought. Sticking with: we agred 4 months max so I have 4 months; So I accpeted it.
6) He said he was going to send a wire on July 4 (still late), and I haven't received it.
7) He said it probably bounced so I should call my bank and ask them why his wire bounced. (even though it worked fine before, and for everyone else)
8) Yesterday I told him I wanted my money now.
9) He told me to shut the fuck up becaucause I'll get my money.
10) I told him I'm going to start looking for buyers.
11) He said if I sell his domains he will personally track me down, and stalk me, and beat my face in.
12) I told him I wanted the money by the end of today or I'll be collecting it some other way. So he should paypal it.
13) He left me with a message saying he'll send the money again when the wire returns back to his account.
14) It's now the end of the day and I haven't even heard from him.
What should I do? Time is ticking...
May be you should have wait longer and it is too late to show your feeling on the board?
