Uh, those are NOT numbers I gave you. I said $5 for 1K is too small of a test, not $75 for 10K.
DO NOT PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH!... thanks ;-)Comment

Yeah, and at $5/k you get at least 1 sale out of it for $35, isn't that a great ROI wanting you to buy more? I'm pretty sure you understand that because you know your traffic, it's better then traffic brokers, so I figured you'd at least understand you don't need 100k of traffic to gauge if it's good enough to buy more.Comment

How do you know you'll get a sale?! All that you're saying is hypothetical with no proof of actually numbers.
I tell people a good way to test a traffic source is to spend the amount you'd expect to get from two sales. So if you get $100 for two sales, then spend atleast $100 to test the traffic.Last edited by AdPatron; 01-01-2009, 08:27 PM.Comment

Because I've had 5 sales and 2 rebills from 48 raw hits...How do you know you'll get a sale?! All that you're saying is hypothetical with no proof of actually numbers.

In my first experiment with buying traffic, I bid for fat chicks on overture and sent it to a pps program. It was a long time ago, but... $1 in traffic later, I made a $25 sale. New and stupid, I thought, this must be good, $300 in traffic later I still had the one single solitary sale. Sponsor probably made some cash from exit consoles, I felt like I got fucked, that's a lot of money especially when you're just starting out, but it was my own fault. Haven't bought traffic since.
I admire anyone who can buy traffic, especially junk traffic like popunders on font sites, and turn a nice profit. If only it were so easy for me, I'd be buying all the traffic I could get my hands on. It seems to be hit and miss for most people, either you turn a profit or not, hit and miss, but I'd seriously take anyone who can turn a profit consistently on purchased traffic from different sources by sending it to sponsors or their own sites (not just by reselling it straight at $1 per 10,000 uniques) and worship them as a fucking god.Comment

Looking up i see,
Hows the experement? I would love to see these results.
In my traffic buying vs. not bothering, here are my findings.
I have a tgp, all bought traffic, in 2008 yeilded 1:1,292. Not great, and split amongst 4 different programs.
I also have a tgp that I send zero bought or brokered traffic. it went 1:402 in 2008. All se traffic or straight type in / bookmark. Also split amongst the same 4 programs. In fact its the same page content-wise, url is different on both. (that was my 2008 experiment.)
I have come to the conclusion that buying traffic is as effective as buying used diapers.
This is however, just my experience, and it dosent mean shit. Maybe if I was running a fucking tube (all the fucking theives seem to be doing alright.......) I would have done better but......honesty has it drawbacks, I suppose.I'm funner than AIDS, and easier to explain to your parents.Comment

How did the actual sales amounts compare? Better conversions are pointless if you only have a dribble of your own traffic when compared to purchased. If you have a positive ROI from a good traffic source with sufficient volume you'll make more money at the end of the day...In my traffic buying vs. not bothering, here are my findings.

Id be interested in knowing more detail on what kind of sites (tgp, gallery, free sites, etc) or types of programs you are pushing, such as niche or general traffic.
I was just going through my numbers yesterday for the year and I looked at bought traffic and my ratio was about 1:1.2 which is the worst its been by far, so much so that I canned the process. The last few months its been about 1:1 across the board from plain old hardcore to micro niche sites.
good luck and post some stats

It's always good to see when a program's reps know the industry.

okay so traffic for retox josh resulted in 2 dollars. i guess thats negative ROI of like 1800%. this is not a smear on his name, i just want to point out that yes, this doesn't convert. i hope you do not mistake it with him being scammer or anything like that. i have no complaints, he delivered whatever i expected.
i'll post up the final fling stats that comes from youjav.com alone which was far more successful then the purchased traffic. might not be as baller as all the other guy's stats.Last edited by doridori; 01-29-2009, 07:30 PM.Comment

You try to convert traffic on a poor site with illegal videos that are so long people wouldnt need to buy or have the urge to buy anything. Give it a rest, move one, get a job at kentucky fried chicken.
You dont have a clue.Comment

I'm sorry I missed this rowan, so far as traffic went between the two if them it was a trickle compared to a stream. In the end the site I bought traffic for made more money, but I was impressed to see how well the site without the bought traffic did. That site cost me $15 and thats basicly it. The turnover was pretty nice for a $15 investment. it gave me a really good idea for this year. How did the actual sales amounts compare? Some people just have the touch when it comes to buying traffic that will convert, and making it convert well. I dont have such great luck, but I always seem to pull out what i'm put in. I do however understand the importance of buying traffic, and will continue to do so in the future, I will just be doing a few small things different.Last edited by jmcb420; 01-31-2009, 11:47 PM.I'm funner than AIDS, and easier to explain to your parents.Comment
