Check the device manager to see if it is posted (Single right click on my computer and go to properties). Go to hardware and open DVD/CD-rom drivers. Go to the drivers tab and update drivers/roll back driver. If you DVD player is not showing up in the device manager the computer will need to be serviced (bad contacts with the CPU).
