That used to happen where I lived too... some guy would come around like once a year in a pick up selling meat. Found it bizarre at first, but then heard its common in rural areas.

Depends on where you live. In Minnesota, they used to do it after deer hunting season. They had so much extra meat and didn't have the room to store it that they'd sell it door-to-door. Nothing beats deer!
