I stopped in Vegas to fill up and jumped right back on I-15. I was going thru North Vegas when I noticed 3 or 4 cop cars had what looked like a stripper pulled over along with another car. I figure that's good, means the road should be free for me.
I am tooling along in the fast lane doing about 75-80, thinking about the chick, wondering what she did to earn all the attention she was getting when all of a sudden this guy on a rice grinder comes flying by me, going at least 120 MPH. To be honest, he scared the crap out of me as I had not seen him coming and only heard the whine of his engine when he was along side of me (one reason I hate helmet's, you can't hear shit until it is too late).
I gathered my wits and watched him fade into the distance zig zagging in and out of traffic. Not more than a minute later I see a cop car speeding up behind me with his lights on. As he approached I could hear he had his siren going to, so I slowed a little and moved over one lane so he could pass. He moved over one lane also, siren still going. I move over another lane, and now it is obvious he is pulling me over!
I can't believe it. I mean, WTF, that guy went flying by me like I was standing still and the cop is pulling me over for doing 10 miles an hour over the limit.
I shut off the bike and meet the cop half way.
Me: "Didn't you see that guy going flying at 120+?"
Him: "I thought it was you. I am sorry, when you stopped and I saw it was a Harley I knew it couldn't be the same guy."
Me: "Yeah, no kidding. I wish I could go that fast."
He laughed and told me to have a safe ride.
Guess this trip is starting off pretty exciting.
The bike is running like a champ. If I wasn't going to wait for my buddy in Salt Lake I could probably be in Sturgis by Sunday afternoon.
