301 redirect question --- please come if you know your shit

    I don't have server access.

I can't put it in the header (not my site).

All I can do is create a stupid post with my link in it and a link to that post then shows up on the page I want an inbound link from. I want to pass the SEO benefit onto my site instead of to the stupid post page in between. Is there a way to put a 301 redirect in the code without it being in the header?

I know the trolls will love this post but if anyone with a brain shows up and answers the question I will be grateful.

You can't get page rank from a page that links to another page that contains your link with a simple "redirect" as if you were the original link on the page....Unless of course you owned everything and then you could do the redirect but I would think google would know this trick and penalize you for it... Its sorta like the cloakin scripts from back in the day...

            :\

The se will find your link off of the page and notate it in the second tier I suppose...

Yea, but they are cool with it. I just dont want the middle step (the going to my post and then clicking my link) because I want the PR.

From my limited experience, it sounds as though the only way to redirect a visitor in this manner would be through JavaScript, and I have doubts that such a redirect would help in transferring PR juice.

Damn. That was my conclusion too. I was hoping to be wrong.
