    Back up drive

    Well as I go on my HD is getting more and more important stuff on it =)

    What i want is something I can back up all my files on (30gigs) daily.. something that is fast, efficent ect... I was thinking just using an old computer but maybe there is something else?

          If you want real time back up use a Raid contoller or try using Norton disk image onto a second drive, its a fast way of getting back up if you have a primary HD failure. I use a Quantum wide scsi tape drive it takes about 20 mins each day.

              Good question...

              I actually have two drives and most important stuff is on both but I do worry about a major problem (like a fire or some fuck breaking in to my house again).

              I don't like online options and I have WAY too much info to burn shit to CD's.

                      Yeah back ups are nice, I just lost everything on my HDD last week when it went bye bye on me. It really sucks when that happens

                          Slap a mobile HDD bay in your box, and stuff a big fat cock, er, I mean hard drive in there, install PowerQuest DriveKeeper... you can set it to keep as many copies of your stuff as you like... mine's set for three.... and it's real-time... so I ALWAYS have the last three versions of everything, plus I use the DriveImage side of it to make exact mirror images of the entire disk to yet another HDD periodically, and then I also burn all sites to their own CDs.....

                          Oh yeah... my shit is backed the fuck up baby... in Quadruplicate!

                                          I recommend getting an external FireWire HD and FireWire card in your machine, it's fast and cheap.

                                              My favorite backup software is "Norton Ghost"

                                              fear not it has fuck all to do with well known dick head Peter Norton other than fact he bought up ghost software (die Norton die you tarding bastard)

                                              very reliable backup compressed multicolumn archives dos & windoz restores main drive with windoze office 2000 + my 10-15 essential utills in about 4 mins.

                                              Amp you da man I bow down to you, can you help backup my brain?
