So I was sentenced today on my recent public nudity charges! The judge gave me 6 months probation and 50 hours of community service but told me if I finish my community service early she may let me off in December. I guess I would say it?s about what I expected but I still plan to file the appeal on Monday for both the conviction and the sentence because I still think it was crap. This may take up to a year to get resolved so I will go ahead and get my probation out of the way in the mean time. I also almost have my lawsuit ready to file I hope within the next 10 days it will be done. I think someone has misguided her that placing a big spotlight on herself was good which if its positive its good but since she is in the middle of nowhere the only way to do that is in the courts. I hope it doesnt backfire on the kid, that would be a shame.I also think if she was some old ugly chick no one would give a shit one way or another lol

"It's unlawful to be naked in public in Lincoln," said Police Chief Tom Casady.

Casady said it was obvious to him that the photos were taken inside the Marz Intergalactic Shrimp and Martini Bar.

The owner of the bar, Jerry Luth, told Omaha television station KETV he is extremely upset by the pictures and did not give Harrington permission to shoot the pictures at the bar.

Harrington was to be arraigned in Lancaster County Court on January 29. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $500 fine.

"They're not going to stop me from doing what I'm doing. I enjoy what I do and they really don't have any grounds now" to prosecute the case, she said.

RAM, that's from the 2003 incident. The one she's posting about now happened a lot more recently.

From what I've gathered.... she had another of her "events" in a local bar. The law says a woman has to wear pasties to cover her nipples, but Melissa had on some sort of body paint instead of pasties covering hers. The cops came and arrested her anyway, even though she says other exotic performers locally have used the body paint and gotten away with it.

That along with her past troubles with these same cops has her wanting to file a harrassment suit and also challenge said laws.

Something like that anyway. :D

How is it I stand up to the police and all of you are like be careful they are going to get you. I am sorry but I do believe I am being singled out and there is a lot worse going on in Lincoln, NE that they do nothing about. They send 6 cops to all my events and watch me so I don't show a boob now you are telling me it takes 6 cops to watch me? I also find it hard to believe that there is not other worse crime in the city that they could be stopping. Shit maybe only send 3 cops send the other 3 to another place! If you felt like you were being treated unfair you wouldn't fight back at all? I find it hard to believe all of you would run with your tail between your legs at least I hope not because that would be so sad. I was in a bar at night with consenting adults and I had my entire boob covered in Pink paint! Melissa

i feel ya on this one sister, i found out the hard way that i wasn't allowed to be topless at the lake in arizona - in a cove *notorious* for that very thing. worse yet - it was considered a class 3 sex offense (worse than incest) because apparently there was a kid under 15 on a nearby boat. i had NO idea i SWEAR until i got arrested, that i couldn't be topless on my own boat.

i hate the fact that our society is so flippin' scared of boobs!!!!

Here is the law as it reads now you be the judge! Who it to say what an opaque covering is I mean one judge may think this in and another may not. It seems to me to be more of a matter of opinion. Wouldn't that mean a girl with a white-t-shirt and no bra on be breaking the law? That would be less then a fully opaque covering because light can get through so there is a public nudity ticket! It doesn't seem like she violated the law on this one, I have to say. The cops didn't even issue her a citation at the scene. They waited for the next day to serve her the papers at her home. From talking to Melissa it's clear the Lincoln, Neb. cops have it out for her - trailing her to gigs, posting undercovers in the bar, etc. Pretty pathetic for some "alleged" public nudity, don't you think?

Regardless, I think we can all agree the world is a better place with Melissa Midwest around.

now that we are beyond that...

when i see this type of "look at me, look at me, fuck you" crap followed by "oh wow... look how i am being victemized .... AGAIN" crap... its a little offensive. More offensive is the suggestion that you are doing it for others, fighting some fight you did not choose, that you were being picked on, that you are a martyr etc etc.

they didn't send 6 cops to an event of yours just as a random occurance or because they all hate boobs or the word melissa. they did it because you have a record of baiting them, getting in trouble and being warned.

there is a HUGE difference for "standing up" for something and intentionally pushing the boundaries, knowing you are doing so, knowing others are on standby waiting to arrest you for it... and planning these events to intentionally bait them and promote yourself, hoping for a scene.

one might also ask "how is it that you can intentionally bait police by pushing the lines in a way that you know is going to attract negative attention from them, threaten to sue them, do it all again and again and again... and then say you are "standing up for something"?

all you are standing up for is self promotion... EXACTLY like the nebraska co-eds guy... repeatedly pushing the line, hoping for publicity.

on the video posted on your site you even guessed right away what the problem was with your comment about transparent pasties (or being "too transparent") - YOU KNEW IT. it was planned. they didn't send 6 cops to an event of yours just as a random occurance or because they all hate boobs or the word melissa. they did it because you have a record of baiting them, getting in trouble and being warned.

there is a HUGE difference for "standing up" for something and intentionally pushing the boundaries, knowing you are doing so, knowing others are on standby waiting to arrest you for it... and planning these events to intentionally bait them and promote yourself, hoping for a scene.

one might also ask "how is it that you can intentionally bait police by pushing the lines in a way that you know is going to attract negative attention from them, threaten to sue them, do it all again and again and again... and then say you are "standing up for something"?

all you are standing up for is self promotion... EXACTLY like the nebraska co-eds guy... repeatedly pushing the line, hoping for publicity.

on the video posted on your site you even guessed right away what the problem was with your comment about transparent pasties (or being "too transparent") - YOU KNEW IT. it was planned. YOU MADE THE CHOICE TO PUSH. you didn't NEED to be topless. YOU CHOSE TO BE TOPLESS BECAUSE YOU KNEW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD BE. You then try to play games with pushing the line of what acceptable coverage is... and you know you are playing this game and you know police are tired of you playing this game.

so don't act like you are just totally blindsided... you knew the lines, you pushed right up to the line and arguably beyond.

To supporters....
its one thing to be distrustful of authority. I even think thats healthy. Its another however, to ignore any and all FACTS of the situation in doing so. Its about LAW.... not about opinion. not about anyones subjective beliefs of what is or should be "right" or "wrong". its about a person being warned several times already for similar behavior and that person not knowing when to stop. are the laws right or wrong? i dont know. the community apparently doesn't seem to think so.

the law doesn't say you must wear something that covers as well as a pasty - it says to wear pasties. so how well it covered isn't the point - and since you didn't have garments on, you were technically nude.

unless you are doing this as some kind of political statement about female nudity, you are risking your freedom and it REALLY isn't worth it. sounds like you either want attention or publicity - or this is unfocused rebelling against "the man". and that REALLY REALLY isn't worth risking time in jail.
