    Best compact HD camcorder

Well, I'm looking for opinions on getting the best HD camera I can afford. I don't want to pay $3k, but want full 1080p, compact, great in low light, easy to upload/edit files (no special software).

So what do you guys suggest?

Thanks, do either of you have a sample vid of your work from those cams? Especially low light. How are the batteries?

              I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5 HD 1920x1080.

It's a great camera for the price, like $400 or so

              Some test clips here

I think you want to wait, or atleast that is what I was told. They are/were supposed to be releasing newer cameras that actually were 1080p. The codec i think they use now is not the right one? Maybe I was told wrong?

They already have them out. If you can wait, there is always something new and better coming out. I certainly could have saved money waiting 6 months
