trying out new "remove poster from gfy" addon for FF

its an "ignore" user type of plug in for vbul, it removes all traces of a poster from the forum...

I am trying it out and have placed quite a few people on the list and its like all threads and all replies are gone...

i dont use ignore functions on vbul because they show the "this user is on your ignore list" and it always aggrivated me to see that lol

but this FF plug in, totally removes the user from your view, all threads, replies etc...

cleans up the forum nicely once you get rid of a few names that youd rather not even read anyway...

very nice

in addition though, you can access various parts of gfy through the links and its easier to surf and hit main or start a new thread... cool shit

what happens when a non blocked user quotes a blocked user? do you see the quote?

nope, my research was incorrect, quotes from the users on ignore do not show up, even if quoted by another non ignored user.

Wow, just got back home and saw this thread.... thanks guys.

It's been a really great project to work on... not just to learn so much, but to get so much great feedback. I've been hearing from people on all types of boards across the internet that have come to accept FfVb as a part of their daily use. Some boards moderators recommend it to their users now to help keep drama at a minimum.

I have been unable to count the number of people installing it from my site but on Firefox's official add on site, the install count is approaching 1000... which is really great considering it's still in the sandbox (have to register to install).

So thanks again guys, I'm glad you like it.
This kind of response really helps motivate me to continue working on improving it

We probably are the same that way. I always laugh when I meet someone new at a show and they say something like, "you really let me have it that time" like I have a clue what they are talking about. If they give me some details I will likely remember, but some people bring up threads from 5 years ago.

I really liked the functionality, but having the contextual menu (I think that's what it's called... when you right click on a link) at the top of the list was enough to make me un-install it within a couple of hours. I use right click all the time and having a new entry before everything else was throwing me off. I know, I'm a nerd. Sorry. But excellent extension!

Would it be better if I moved it to the bottom of the menu?
I would like to make it dynamic to let people choose but I'm not entirely sure it's within my power to make such an option.

I moved it to the bottom on my local copy and it seems to work pretty good there.

I am tired and I am not sure what this is supposed to look like as I just d/l it within the hour. This menu at the bottom sucks. There just isn't anyone on GFY that irritates me enough to put up with giving up 1" of my screen. Is there a way to make that disappear and I can bring it up if/when I decide to add someone?

Just for the record, this will be really useful on mainstream boards. Will probably keep me from getting banned so often too. But there has to be a way to minimize that menu.
