The most you can possibly write say write decent [or a little shitty] once daily updates for, or a lesser amount that are more enriched with multiple well written posts and fresh content daily?
At one point I ran over 50 that I updated regularly. That's not my answer, though.
The answer: It depends on the individual. What you need to do is remember that it's not necessary to update everyday; but, instead, with regularity. You should start one blog, start another, and so on until you naturally reach your own personal limit.
I will tell you something else, too. Two things, actually. Get yourself seo hosting. That's the first thing. Second: Remember that one GOOD blog can be as productive as 10 SHITTY blogs.
EDIT : Make sure you throw up Dating Gold advertising too and hit me up if you need help.
Rephrase your question like this: From your experience is running 20 blogs updated once each daily with less word and a bit shittier writing better than running 3 blogs and update them several times each with rich content and better writing daily?

Best thing is to take notes during the weeks of what topics you want to post on the blogs. Each time you get a idea, write it down on your to-do list.
My goal is to write 2-3 topics on ONE blog each day, then I schedule the entry so it goes public one day at the time. Next day I write on one of the other blogs. That way I dont have to research 6-8 topics each day
I usually get around to making more then 2-3 posts, but my goal is still only 2-3 a day.
Thirty or so...... The trick is to write the updates in advance. Currently everything on my blog network is updated two months away - Till Feb of 2009.

You cant use that approach, if you want to profit from the trafficbust of current events. You will be 2 months behind the competition, and the bounce-rate will be sky high
There are two resons why you should use the current events trafficbust
1 - the volume
2 - since you are ahead of the rest, people will link you your blog from forums and communities = free permanent backlinks and traffic
It seems that having the posts written & scheduled then also adding in current news or new content that is relevant to the blog's niche might be the best approach.
