i would get a server not to explensive and i would do some content shopping and i would make my own free sites and galleries and start pushing a site that i know i like and would do well for me. -

Start without investing a single buck and spend the 1000 in some strip clubs and double it on the poker table. After you established your site you can look out for small investments.
