Hey Sponsors.. 2257 -- Will you do this?

In your affiliate admin areas, next to each banner/ad/fpa/hpa/etc, you shall add a link for affiliate to download 2257 docs for the images used in creating the banner/ad/etc.

next to every FHG link, you shall include a link for affiliate to download 2257 docs incase such affiliate wishes to use a thumnail or image from that FHG to link to such FHG..

next to every downloadable zip set, you shall include a link to download 2257 docs so webmaster may maintain 2257 docs as required..

In this manner, affiliate will be able to download records specific to what is only being used.. get it?

yeah, I suppose most of the sponsors really don't give a fuck what would happen to their affiliates....

So, I'm rephrasing this.... Any sponsor that does not do this, is not worth promoting & I will drop any & all sponsors that do not do such, & recommend all webmasters to discontinue promoting ANY sponsor that does not provide them with such 2257 docs as required by law.

Sponsors, you need to post in this thread your statements that you are willing to & will go to every extent possible to make sure each & every affiliate has the 2257 docs required...

Before, all we had to do was claim exemption as secondary producer, now that has changed, & so must your handling of this to better assist us in promoting your products.

Gonna make things weird for sponsors. Let's say I want the home address of a model I would like to get in touch with. Just sign up for the affiliate program and get names and addresses? A stalker's dream come true.

These are the risks outlined by FSC, however, seems the law does not give a shit, nontheless, i need to be in compliance of these regulations, therefore I require documents in order to be in such compliance.

Sponsors need to "qualify" their affliates also. Otherwise you could be providing personal information about models to nut-jobs.

AT LEAST TAKE STEPS TO COVER YOUR ASS if the inevitable occurs and lawyers are looking for deep-pockets.

where would wm's put the 2257 info for content you mention? separate from the page with the images/clips? link to a master html page the wm hosts updated with new 2257 data each time he pulls content from a sponsor. or is the wm storing it in a folder on his desktop with a ton of other unorganized documentation from other programs or...i'm curious how others are handling this.

We're supposed to maintain records crossreferenced 4 different ways.. big pain in the ass, but needs to be done.. ie: list, or html on desktop in folder

this was already covered NUMEROUS times when the last 2257 shit hit. The majority of sponsors said GFY and aren't giving the 2257's

you're gonna find very few, if any, sponsors that will give you 2257 docs. if they gave every affiliate the docs, the talent would have stalkers within days

See, it's a double-edged sword here though. I know realistically that every sponsor can't give out 2257 info on their models, but then what do we, the secondary producers, do to keep ourselves legal?

Then what the fuck do they expect us to do then? If we're now going to be required by the changes in this law to have this shit. I don't suppose listing all the sponsors on a page as the custodian of records is going to cut it,,, would it?

                                        Simple,
1 - Use only text links linking to sponsors hosted freesites, banners and/or galleries.
2 - Use (buy) your own content to make banners, freesites and/or galleries.

Content are so cheap these days that anyone can buy them. I've seen content go as low as $0.15 per set... so u wont lose 4/5 of your business or google/yahoo images...

Below is what FSC advised it's members in regards to secondary producers. I just got the email. Don't panic. Additional inspections are expected.

Anything is possible, but by all common sense there are thousands upon thousands of searches to be done before even considering contacting seondary producers. The act of contacting the millions upon millions of secondary producers is impossible.

Just to clarify, the bill may be signed into law by bush on thursday, but it is unlikely that it would go into effect at that time. Usually when a law passes it goes into effect on the 1st of the following year.

99% positive any webmaster outside the United States won't be worrying about U.S. jail time. It goes back to the issue that every video store in the country that carries adult films or R films in many cases would be required to also have the 2257 information for each title and each model. Remember many Hollywood titles contain nudity or showing simulated sex acts as well.

But I know no one wants to be the example. For the time being, I would think the best option for any US based affiliate is to purchase a membership to FSC. I'm sure if you contact your best sponsor they'd probably be more than happy to purchase it for you. Heck, I'd do it.... but then again, I have ONE model who I know is 100% compliant.

I do believe there is little to no chance that the secondary producer clause will ever hold, much less cause issues for affiliates. It makes about as much sense as the Chewbacca defense.
