    Dildo Dilema!!

    Last week I had three Models complain about burning sensations after shooting a scene with Double headed Dildos ... for the longest time I thought it was due to the different lubes we have .. but it seems like all the didlos were made with Petrol or petrollium .. Anyone ever encounter that ?

    Now the girls complain regularly especially during a heavy shoot week, which the last two months have been ... But one of the models is a Hustler Model (she appears in Sept 06 issue) ànd she`s worked some hardocre scenes with me, and isn`t a complainer usually .. so I took it for face value and through out all the double headed dildos .. About 10 of them ...

    What other materials are used for double headed didlos .. Any got any suggestions on alternatives .. And no I will not shoot with a condom on a dildo ! no way man that just looks horrid.

      I highly doubt its the dildo material unless its old and flaking or something.

      The only way it would burn is if there were cuts, tears, or scratches on/in them that the lube was getting into.

      petrollium is not corrosive or abrasive.

                                  they use petrolleum for some plastics true, but I cant believe theyd do that with dildos, although if you see a $5 one you wonder how they can even make profit on one.

                                                      Did you try them with different lubes then? When I got my first dildos I got these burning sensations aswell, thought it was the dildos, but then I took a closer look at my lube bottle, and it said it had a "zing" effect. I can't see why anyone would enjoy it, it was just purely unpleasant for me...

                                                              Allow me to put on my Cassandra Campbell "official toy reviewer" hat on --(AVN Novelty Magazine, Playboy Radio Toy Review Girl)

                                                              Unfortunately, the novelty business isn't regulated and often times manufacturers will use a lesser grade of material to save on costs. The synthetic material will break down with wear, types of lube, and time. Most double ended dongs are made of "jelly" as the toy industry folk call it, a rubber/plastic blend that is designed to be bendable and durable. You can also find rubber or latex dildos. Often times it's not the dildo itself, but the treatment used to protect the item if it's heat sealed when packaging, that can cause irritation.

                                                              If the item feels different from when you got it originally (usually it gets softer, then it starts to get sticky and may or may not have a slightly stronger scent)

                                                              If you are looking for alternatives to material, I suggest looking for silicone or cyberskin for bendable ones, and acrylic or glass for rigid dongs.

                                                              Try something like this:

                                                                      You might want to check to see if you are getting interaction between the materials of the dildo and the lube you are using. Check very carefully to make sure that the lube is acceptable for toys. You may have a situation where the lube is degrading the dildo.

                                                                      You might also want to look at the process you use to clean the dildos (even new ones) as you might be making the surface break down and exposing less than 100% cured rubber to the lube, which in turn may be causing a reaction.

                                                                      Is this happening on new toys or ones that you have shot with before and cleaned up for the next shoot?
