i picked up the Panasonic Blu-Ray for $299 or less.

has SD card slot so you can view your digital camera pics on it.

picture quality of blu-ray is amazing. just bought wall-e and will be watching it this evening.

you could go with an LG or Samsung that allows for netflix streaming, but i read the fine print that netflix streaming was "near dvd" quality if you had a fast connection...and after seeing blu-ray (and HD), not going back to DVD, so definitely not needing to stream less than DVD quality, so wasn't a requirement.

my comcast has a decent amount of HD free movies.

Netflix has over 1,000 blu-ray titles..costs you $1/month extra..but definitely worth it

I was thinking PS3..but all the good games are on Xbox 360, so didn't seem worth the extra expense.
