Host Gator - Need some info about them !

Hello,

Do you know anything that i should know about host gator before i start doing some business with them ? If you do , please let me know.

Are they offering a good service? I'am interested in small hosting account like their BABY plan. But i need any info i can get from these who are using them or had some bad expirience.

I use them for all my sites, never had an issue with them. They've always given me great support too. Just like any other host on GFY, you'll probably hear good and bad things... but thats my

haha I had my toplist hacked on Hostgator , It wasent anything to do with the host it was a very badly written script

Hostgator are cheap and have an execellent uptime but their servers can be a little slow at times apart from that they are fine

"Tier 1 providers like:
- TeliaSonera
- Level 3 Communications
- Telecom Italia
- Hurricane Electric
- Savvis
- Tata Communications
- Global Crossing"

Some of those are good but stop Bull Shitting people they are not all tier 1 as a matter of fact a few of those are the bottom of thae barrel as cheap providers and I would bet you weight your bw to those cheapies more than the better ones.

Thank you for pointing that out. The boxes that are posted on that special (http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=869886) are in a different datacenter (we are colocating them at Mojohost utilizing their network!) than our shared boxes. Our shared boxes utilize the NTT/Verio Global IP Network which is a True Tier-1 provider.

Hostgator is one of the worst in the biz. I tried them out before and nothing but problems. Bad support, slow network, simply useless. If all you can afford if a 5 buck hosting account then your gonna fail in this biz anyway so keep the 5 bucks and go by 2 happy meals. But if you can get up off a few more bucks you can find some decent and yes even cheap hosting much better than hostgator..

Horrible service. Was with them for about a month and had nothing but problems. Server down, support tech calling me at 2AM and waking my ass up just to tell me server was offline. I don't recommend going with them

I had a dedicated with them before. Cheap prices. Servers were reliable. Bandwidth was fast. Support was horrible though. They are good if you can handle things on your own but if you need someone to hold your hand I recommend someone else.

I started using them 8 months ago. So far its OK but I only use them for less relevant websites and I wouldn't recommend them for TGP galleries.
