Apparently I Don't Know What The Fuck I'm Doing.

So, I set up this site a couple of months ago (http://www.bucketoffuck.com) and I've only made one sale. It gets around 350% prod and 2K/day and has been doing about that much since June 10 or so. Could it be a problem with the site? The content? The traffic?

I guess I should probably be working on some other sites, but I don't really want to waste my time until I know what sells. Of course I would much rather have one bad ass site that I can focus all my attention on than a bunch of mediocre sites that would be a hassle to maintain.

Welcome to the world of tgp traffic dude. You need like 10 times that traffic to even see little profits with such a general site. Good idea to mabey concentrate on another aspect of porn selling and not waste too much time. You should see if you can get some galleries coming in from other webmasters with a submission form on your site. Thats a good way to slowly build your traffic base with reciprocal links while you work on other shit.

So you think submissions will grow the traffic significantly? I might as well, not selling anything from the FHGs anyway.

The TGP design it's not really inviting i must say (get a nicer and smaller header)... add some thumbnail previews... don't promote what a million affiliates are already promoting, look up for the small reliable sponsors, build and submit galleries with your TGP recip.

try some color in it and some picture on it. you have to sell your product. this is just plain and no fun to look around on.

I'd recommend making the descriptions for each link more descriptive than just two words - that way it looks like you have many links, and not just a lot of replicating content (i.e. indicative of a "shell site" or undeveloped one). Even something as simple as "Blonde fucked up the ass" might work better - your mileage may vary though.

If you've made 1 sale you can make more but you have to improve your conversion rates.

Take advice given here from others.

Here's my 2 cents and others may disagree or not.

Since you are getting some traffic and that traffic is consistantly coming from the same like minded places I would make 1 small change at a time every 10,000 visitors.

This way you can see what combination is working when you start to see sales.

For your own use document your changes. You'll need this info at a later time.

Since your getting about 2k visitors a day, after each change you make you'll have 5 days to hunt down top sites like yours and get more i'deas for improvements/changes/things to test inorder to boost your conversion rate.

Once you have improved your conversion rate then ( I ) would start focusing on more quality traffic from closely related sites.

                  Hope this helps.

Good point, though there are thousands of galleries in my database that rotate and would require descriptions. What do you think about having, say 20 vague descriptions to go with each niche, then randomly assigning them to galleries?

I've considered this issue, but then I am reminded of the many huge sites that use the niche - media style links. I guess I'm hesitant to add that much overhead without being able to evaluate the advantages. I would much rather spend my time adding features than doing repetitive data entry.

You shouldn't see any replicated links on the site(other than galleries that appear on the front page as well as the archives). I did have some issues with a few galleries where my trade script was corrupting some of the url arguments in my gallery links causing the same gallery to show up for all galleries of a given website. But that only happened for one sponsor and I decided that their content pretty much sucked anyway and got rid of them.

How exactly does this increase my traffic? The gallery submitter adds a link from the gallery to my website, and then submits the same gallery to other TGPs?

I put a form up and have received a couple submissions, so far they have only had a link to my site. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the submitter has different versions of the gallery each with a link to whatever TGP it was submitted from. In this case, would I only be receiving hits from users who got to the gallery from my site?

Yea the idea is that your recip link is bunched in with other sites recip links.
The traffic is really pathetic at first, but as you get more and more submissions traffic will slowly grow and your search rankings will go up. The more galleries you get submitted daily the better.

Maybe make a rule that a gallery needs at least 2 recip links to other sites on it and also remember you dont have to list all the galleries submitted to you just the ones you like.

Don't get discouraged because of poor sales. You just have to stay on top of things when it comes to this game.
Most people think you just get a great layout, throw up some links, crop a few thumbs, add a few trades, sit back and the money comes pouring in. You may get lucky and get sales with a few sponsors, but the money will quickly stop once your trades gets on the bandwagon and start pushing the same programs you do. There are thousands upon thousands of other tgp's out there. Many of them promote the same sponsors. You can send all the hits you can to a program and never make a sale. Most people blame the sponsors but they should blame themselves.... It's mostly a game of who gets to the surfer first. When that surfer finally decides to join a site, the one who referred him first will normally get the prize. Hell, I still get sales from sponsors I stopped promoting months ago.
Investigate what sites your biggest trades push and make it a point not to use the same sponsors. Try and find smaller less saturated programs to promote and always try to beat the others to the punch when new sites come out. The early bird get's the worm.
Layout and design are not everything. I've seen keyword rich, one page shitty looking sites with a few eyecatching words or attention grabbing pictures blindlinked to paysites, that would run circles around some of the best layed out tgp's when it comes to sales. No matter how the site looks. It could look like shit or be as pretty as a bed of roses, always make them wanna click your links..

One last thing... Try trading with sites in your niche that get high SE rankings on popular keywords. Try to get in their top 10 trades. They can send you alot of quality traffic that possibly hasn't seen the sites you promote.
