    Recommend a Data Recovery Service

Can anyone recommend a fair, honest and capable data recovery service that you may have experience using in the past? I just had an important external hard drive fail on me and I'm trying to not get bent over. Thanks.

Don't forget to back up your back up

Jordan, I talked to Mark from 911 and told him you sent me. The guy def sounds the most honest and straight forward of all the 5 or so I spoke with today. Nice quote too. Thanks!

                100% recovery
pricey - standard service level is sufficient

I used these guys. My drive was shot, but they were very honest. They don't charge you if they can't recover your data. I know Apple recommends them, among others: http://www.drivesavers.com/

Good luck. It's a bitch when your hd crashes.

put it in the freezer for 10 hours or so.. put it back in sometimes it stays cold enough to get the data off the drive
