    1: Someone who was close to me passed away Saturday and I've been dealing with that. Between that and work and my kid I'm pretty busy right now.                     We all have friends here, even those of us who have enemies, and there is nothing wrong with showing off a new purchase or home or whatever. But if you are nice guy, and just sharing pictures then my comments don't apply to you, if they sounded like they did or i implied that then i appoligize.                                     I just don't understand why you people come here to share your friend moments, why not do that bull shit on myspace or through icq, why here.                                                             I never said that being secure can't contribute to your happiness. I said that it doesn't matter how much you spend on something, if it makes you happy, I'll be happy for you.

                                                            I am pretty much still living check to check..not because I don't work hard, but because I have debt from being young and stupid, and more from my divorce, and I'm supporting three kids on my own. I know money would take a lot off my mind, and it would certainly make me sleep better at night, but I'm not going to feel like less of a success then someone who has more. I am a devoted mother, I am a good friend, I was a wonderful wife, I am smart, and funny, and people generally like to be around me. How much money I have has zero value in my self worth. I'm not saying I want to struggle my whole life. I am working to get myself out of debt, and be able to buy a home in a few years, send my kids to whatever college they want, and so forth. But, to someone like me who supported a family of six (while I was married) on $1200 a month, the materialistic attitude of some people on here is ridiculous.

                                                            I guess I'm just a simple girl. I don't need fur coats, a mansion, a sports car, and diamonds to be happy. I'm in my 1600 square foot house, in a pair of demin shorts and a tank top, with my Chevy pick-up in the driveway, and silve hoops in my ears, sitting at my hand-me-down desk and my four year old computer, and I'm proud of it all, because I worked hard to get me here. Does that mean I give up, and I don't want anything more for my family? Of course not, don't be silly.

                                                            I just don't get the bashing mentality when someone is happy about something they bought. Now, Jim and I get along just fine, but I can appreciate that he does dish it out, and so he should be prepared to have it slung back at him. But IMO this statement you just made "I could give a shit if you have money or not, i just hate people who try to pretend they are something they are not, and rip on others all the time." applies to everyone else who came in here and dogged him, including you.                                                             As far as sharing, think of it this way..how much time would it take to hit up all your contacts individually? If GFY is a biz tool, (and I find that statement wishful thinking, because I post biz threads all the time that never get a single response, but just for the sake or arguement, I'll go with that.), then it saves a lot of time in that I or anyone else can contact the majority of their contacts all at once, and it may even drum up a conversation with a new contact that could be fruitful biz-wise in the future.
