Yeah toothpaste works good on old silver and most tarnishs. Use an old toothbrush.

I have 24 hours and the cleaners I've talked to said they only dispose of dead bodies.

The ring has two parts, the ring with diamonds and the ring guard.

Does toothpaste really work?

Okay, I'm not a webmistress but...

Take it to a pro and get it buffed. Should take less than a couple of hours, and the ring looks awesome. My wife took our rings to our jeweler before the wedding to get them done.

Only thing is, you're not supposed to do that sort of cleaning very often becuase it will wittle away your metal.

it takes like 10 minutes at a shopping mall jewelry store go to any one of them and ask them to clean it they will do it for free

I know I sound like a nin.com/poop on this thread. Of course I tried rushing it to a jewler but of the 10 I called they all need like a week to clean it. I guess it involves sending it out to Willy Wonka and having the ompa-loomps work on it. *sigh*

That works best, or go to WalMart and buy a cheap jar of jewelry cleaner and scrub the hell out of it, then buff it with a soft cloth (chamois or a washcloth, either works just fine).

If nothing else, use a small amount of toothpaste on the diamond part and an old toothbrush, then buff it dry and clean. it'll shine and be beautiful. It really does work.

Heres your answer, I use to work in a Fine Jewelry Store, and this is a MUST, not only will they clean it, they can also check the prongs to make sure it's not likely to become loose and get lost.

Most will do this for free or a very small fee.

tooth paste and a soft tooth brush will do wonders
i am not sure about in the states but i know here in canada if you go to peoples or Kara's they will clean it for you in like 2 mins

i've never heard of a jeweler that had to send something out to clean it, even Sears jewelry department will clean them on the spot.
