I think people are having a hard time determining the difference between race and nationality. Israel is a country and israeli is a nationailty. There are plenty of Jewish people who do not support the actions of Israel. The country of Israel is home to a number of Jewish people and was created after World II as a Jewish Homeland. In retrospect, this was probably not the best idea, and by modern standards some might call it racist. Why were these people not treated as refugees and dispursed to various countries around the world? The motives behind establishing a jewish homeland in the center of the muslim world are questionable to say the least. The reality is, however, that it is there now, and you can't very well tell the Israeli's "Maybe you should just... you know... pack up and move halfway around the world... to stop all the fighting". If the US did not fund them, they would likely be overtaken by the predominately muslim countries surrounding them, but would probably decrease the anti US sentiment in the middle east significantly. The question for consideration is: Has Isreael, in this case and in the past, acted fairly to their neighbors? Could their actions now and in the past be considered Imperialistic? It sucks that in 2006 there are still wars over the fact that people cannot get along with people they perceive as different from them. It really goes to show that despite all of our scientific and technological advances, there are still enough stupid people left to fight over this kind of bullshit. Racism is the most completely non scientific means by which to make predictions about people. There is no significant difference in the genetic variation between people of the same race and people of different races. The differences perceived between members of various races are purely cultural and are underscored by the socialization of racial prototypes. Arguments on the Israeli situation based on race will not serve to solve this problem as they only breed more hate, and hate is what created this problem in the first place.

Your last post in response to mine demonstrates a different point. It demonstrates that Christianity has no boundries. It does not demonstrate that the Jews are bad, horrible people. In fact, if this makes you believe that the Jews are bad, it only adds weight to my original quote as to the world turning against Israel. It also demonstrates the hardships that the apostles had to go through within themselves and in dealing with people that did not like what they had to say, people like you.
