a friend of mine messaged me and asked what seekmo was, a program was asking him to install software to video videos, i said i had no idea, then i told him about zango.

found out, zango used to be 180 solutions until they got a major lawsuit, now they are seekmo.

BELLEVUE, Wash. and NEW YORK/TEL AVIV, Israel June 7, 2006-Hotbar and 180solutions today announced an agreement to merge, effective immediately. The merged company will be known as Zango.

A class action complaint against adware company 180solutions was filed today in an Illinois United States District Court by attorneys Shawn M. Collins and David J. Fish of The Collins Law Firm. The complaint on behalf of residents of the United States and the state of Illinois charges that 180solutions downloaded spyware on computers illegally causing a number of damages. 180solutions' alleged illegal practices include deceptively distributing spyware files and preventing users from removing them, engaging in deceptive misconduct to download its spyware without users' knowledge or consent, lying to consumers about its spyware, etc.

Zango is hell on earth, you cant close it easily its a piece of shit and causes god knows how many problems..

Good. Maybe this time they'll get put out of commission permenantly. The problem with most civil actions is that by the time all the steps are gone through, these companies have packed up and are working under another name. Of course, attorneys could file these as civil RICO actions, but most are too lazy to go after one of them and meet the high burdens of proof that RICO requires.

It goes without saying that it would have to be a knowing act on the part of the affiliate. I.e. if you put code on your site that you know installs badware, then you need to be liable along with your partners in crime.

Its going to happen sooner or later, you may as well get used to the idea of it. As long as you arent out promoting badware, you have nothing to worry about. Run a clean operation and you'll be fine.

I did a test install of that shit and thank jeebus for Windows restore. If you uninstall it right away, it'll usually be gone, but if you run your computer for a day or so with it, then try to remove it, you're shit out of luck.

There are a few people on the board with their program in their sig, too.

And I know about the install market too, I made the mistake of promoting it myself (as an affiliate) a couple of years ago through a Winamp exploit and after digging into their exe's my conscience made me pull the plug.

By promoting such garbage, you're only shooting yourself in the foot, either by pissing off your surfers, or as it has been alleged, giving your surfers spyware which will overwrite affiliate links with their own codes, thus depriving yourself of future sales, even through legitimate means.

I installed the ZangoCash software from Seekmo, watched one of their videos, and then I uninstalled the Seekmo software. During the time it was installed I didn't see anything other then the video I was watching. When I uninstalled the software I ran Spybot S&D and AdAware. They found NOTHING. There is a big difference between Adware and Spyware. I wish people would learn the difference. Ad supported software has been around for ages.

Fling.com doesn't steal your traffic and sales unlike some other dating companies. I promote them, and so should you!
