An Inconvenient Truth - SEE IT

Just see it and draw your own conclusions. If you're one of those that thinks the earth with still be just fine if we keep doing like we're doing for another 10-20 years...and you STILL think that after seeing this presentation of evidence...well, that's your call. but at least see it...

and no, i'm not a democrat or liberal or particularly a supporter of al gore ....
Arguing whether the Democratic or Republican party is better is like debating which steaming pile of shit is slightly less stinky.

i was lucky enough to be part of a group that got to see a screening and then have a q&a with lawrence bender (producer) afterward.

really, REALLY thought-provoking and affecting stuff.

Is it okay to download this movie? I'm helping the cause by not burning fuel to get me to the theatre.

Ok ok , now I'm not bashing the film or it's ideas, but 10-20 years? That isn't even a countable moment on Earth's time scale.

Shh Im sure that farmer writing the tempeture down in his journal 110 years ago using an uncalibrated mercury thermometer with tons of grass around him, and no black asphault had the tempeture right. I just cant figure out how we have a full 1 degree tempeture increase over the last 100 years. We could use logic to figure that out, but nah instead lets listen to Al Gore, and Ed Beagley Jr.

they can tell what the temps were by the glaciers, dont you think for yourself or do you just follow the party line lol

Oh lets add billions of miles of black asphault and pavement to the world. I wonder if there will be an increase? Must be the hole in the ozone. Funny I remember how Green Peace got started back in the 70's. Some big scare about an iceage because of florocarbons blocking out the sun.

Yes they can determine a 1 degree tempeture change over 100 years cause of the glaciers. Couldnt be a natural cycle of the fluctuation of the earths rotation either... nah. How do they determine the entire earth has had a tempeture increase? Just the fuckin El Nino will make the temepeture fluctuate.

Compared to the 70's and early 80's we are living in a sanitary environment now. Pollution isnt anywhere near as bad as what it used to be.

No fucking shit. You want to talk about junk science? How about Christianity? Now there is some junk science for you. Another scientific fact is that Republicans are, on average, less intelligent than the rest of us.

Yeah, its real funny, isnt it?

You know, this wouldnt be so bad if idiots like you couldnt make the rest of us suffer for your stupid decisions. But the fact of the matter is we're all stuck on this dirty, rotten little planet together and whether we like it or not everything we do affects everyone else and vice versa.

I really wish about 80% of the population would die tommrow. If this were to happen, we could return to a sustainable culture that would allow enough room between people so that the stupid choices made by one would not threaten the entire population's well being.

Couldnt be a natural cycle of the fluctuation of the earths rotation either... nah. How do they determine the entire earth has had a tempeture increase? Just the fuckin El Nino will make the temepeture fluctuate.

Ahhhhh were all going to fry Oh noes!!

Well first they drill holes in glaciers in antarctica and they test the air bubbles, from those test they can determine the CO2 make up and Temp of the atmosphere at that point in time.

Im no tree hugger, if anything I would consider myself a doubter with limited knowledge on this subject. But when the hoopla of this film started to come out, I did some reading and participated in debates with friends online and off and if half of what is said in this movie is true, its an eye opener.

Youre absolutely right about fluctuation in temperatures and cycles and it is covered in the movie, there are up and down years but if you step back and look at a graph of temps it goes up. Think of a graph of the NYSE over the past 100 years, there are peaks and valleys, but the trend is up.

I could have done with out some Gores poor me mentality about the 2000 election but overall if "this" personality he showed in the movie would have been displayed during that election, he would have been president.

Hey Im just happy for the global warming people. They finally realized that the best time to release their crappy movies and reports isnt during the middle of an cold snap in the upper North East. Was that 2004 when Al Whore did that? Coldest recorded tempetures in recent history where he was, and he is doing a speaking event about how global warming was going to kill us all.

These increases have enhanced the heat-trapping capability of the earth?s atmosphere.
