Ya creates extra pressure. The backpressure from the exaust not going out as much as it needs makes the valves be under more stress. Unlikely to cause a problem unless you do it all the time.Originally posted by Donny

That's good to know because I do it all the time. It is more likely an issue when someone ads a restrictive muffler, or their catalytic convertor gets plugged up.
