I just met 20,00 nivans today alone at the Kiwani races.
I am also married to a local girl with a very large extended family and with 2 melanesian kids of my own who both had their birthday yesterday. Their party held at our place had over 200 kids, most ni_vans all accompanied by parents, brothers and sisters, house girls and other hangers on wanting to check out our mansion.

Last year alone we had a capital gain of around 50% on land values - and destined to be much the same this year.
Generally, now is a time for buying in these places - tho chances are that should have been three/four years ago to get a decent price.
Stuff we have, we are not marketing yet, simply because the price is going up 50% each year, but the demand is sure there and suspect it's almost the same the world over. A lot of folks want to "escape"

Don't know this org in particular, but it was never a secret among national and international funding and development organisations that several island nations and other "third world countries" have a far superior *real lifestyle* than others. There are many reasons, - but often a mix of economic sustainability, rich ecology and an environment which has not been screwed up over time. When you have a self-sustaining community along these lines, - sure, people are going to be much happier in their daily lives.Originally posted by maxjohan

There are third world countries where is it very difficult to even create an reasonable living environment and no amount of money can do this - it's just the nature of the beast.
On the flip side there are "civilised countries" where they have never heard of a "sustainable environment" (ie prefer to ignore it) and simply consume natural resources, contaminating and destroying any environment they once had. Accompanying that comes "sophistication" of many forms - eg credit cards, mortgages, fast food stores (food never was mean't to be "fast", just eaten at normal pace)
The current tendency among orgs, since it is anticipated that people, - mainly from the "civilized countries" are going to want some of this "happy world" is to develop sustainable tourism options, particularly where tourism does not eat into the environment - ie if that goes, it no longer is "happy world".
It's the same where "civilized world" may want to permanently have a home in "happy world" - it needs a lot of managing to ensure the environment remains intact and overall self-sustaining. (As a side plus - there are many benefits to "self-sustaining") The one thing ya don't do is construct six condo complexes with armed guards at the gates
It's a long story maxjohan and been working on several such projects for a few years now with professional assistance from several international orgs as well as governments in other countries. Along the way, this has been a massive education excercise but also meeting up with some amazing and interesting people in the process. It would take too long to cover outline here, but, several "experts" have described our project locations to be the cream of what they have ever seen - and they are the people who would know - they have seen it all worldwide. Meanwhile, it's back to the grindstone
