Merchant account question....

hate to say it, but that's a question for kimmykim. She could hopefully provide some full details on this subject.
I kinda believe that's the case though as I've experienced it. It wasn't hard to raise the limit though....

We have a merchant account for our non-adult stuff and one of the best relationships you can have business-wise is with your merchant bank. We keep our stuff very clean and we constantly talk to our account rep at our merchant bank (and simple things like sending them christmas and brithday cards) and conduct ourselves professionally and find we have problems getting our limits raised and getting special deals on processing fees...it's not that we are their biggest client, but we keep on constantly good temrs with them so when we need a favor or limit raise, it's much easier to accomplish...

I believe that statement to be generally true. When I first got into the business they (of course) they initially set a processing limit of 25k/mo. However, like that other post says it is very important to have a relationship with your merchant bank... So that when you business grows things like that are a mute topic.

And, by all means, I would dissuade anyone from holding their own merchant account for adult website processing... Use 3rd party billing, it's cheaper and you won't get blacklisted on the TMF (terminated merchant file).
