i mean i see at least three people a day claim to be the shit....we got at least 200 ex army rangers it seems...at least 200 people who have won golden glove boxing or some shit.

at least 500 who seem to be all around tough guys and they all seem to train with hoyce gracie or whatever wrestling name is top these days.

i mean what happened to the days of the slightly overweight webmaster?

how did we all get replaced by lethal weapons

or am i naive to believe them...lol

I am in Thailand studying Muai Thai right now. I did some study with the Gracies in Rio for grappling but dislocated my shoulder so took a break from that.

Interesting point.
I Know a handful of people in life, (not online) that have trained under chuck norris or Bruce lee or whomever. I find it fascinating that 200 post on gfy. I myself never trained under Hoyce. I should look into flying down to Brazil or risk getting my ass kicked at the next show.

Phoenix I know of some good schools in toronto if your interested in joining

I have been doing MT and bjj (no gi) for 7 years now. I only do it in the winter cuz I still pursue my other hobbies in the summer. Its a good way to get into shape. I actually wanted to start kick boxing, but then saw these people doing MT at a gym and just fell in love with it.

Most people that actually train are pretty cool and don't enjoy fighting outside of the gym, much like myself. From what I've seen, those people that act hardcore are either drunk, behind a computer or picked up a few moves and think they are bullet proof.... or carry a gun i guess

Not true. I have gotten in a fight when i was dead drunk, and it really helps. Lots of other guys are bouncers and have to deal with a lot of shit.

But yes, I know what your saying, some people can train at whatever, but anything can happen when its time to perform. I personally, rather have no fights then having drunk people start shit for no reason.

Been in a few fights, won all of them. I'm also an ok sized guy... 6"1, 220 lbs... but I wouldn't puposely pick a fight. People are too dishonorable now. Chances are they are carrying a weapon or have 20 friends around just waiting to jump your bones.

Its a dog eat dog world out there, forget about honor or anything remotely resembling dignity

Hopefully I dont come off as trying to be a big bad ass when discussing my training. I have a long way to go. I've been overweight for 6 years now which is why I got into fighting. I started at 330lbs and just weighed in at 290lbs last night.

I started my blog in hopes that other people who sucked down a 2 litre of pop a day for so many years and wanted to get back into shape might consider MMA as an outlet to help them.
