Cl500 from 2001 goes for around 40-50K here.

Not really but I'm not a fan of most Mercedes models.

This looks to me like any number of very practical generic styled mid 90's autos, all of which had different headlights, taillights, and grills and otherwise look almost identical. A different front clip would make this almost indistinguishable from a Ford Taurus or a Honda.

Not saying that there's anything wrong with the car but personally if I'm going to pay $50k+ for something I'd rather have more distinctive styling. There's a reason Mercedes uses an emblem 5x the size of any other manufacturer, it's so you can tell the difference between their cars and 1000 other models it closely resembles.

You can't exactly compare a Mercedes CL with a BMW 3-series. Those are 2 completely different leagues.

Comparing a BMW to Mercedes Benz is like comparing apples and oranges. They are two different things.

Get the CLS man. The CL isn't nearly as hot.

You are absolutely right, but still I have to make a choice. I am looking for a sporty, comfortable and reasonably "practical" car to own and found only these. I have been thru Audi, Volvo, Saab, Vw etc etc, but not finding anything that really suits me..

Preowned - looking for cars with ~50k KMs on the meter. The CL would be a 500, I wouldnt want a V12 with todays gas prices really.

After looking at how expensive all the cars are over there I would suggest getting a 5 series BMW.

The CL is great, totally different car compared to the 330 and the m3 though and the price is quite a bit different too.

Have to say I love my 330ci though, awesome car for sure
