    Americans inside now

Why do you, for example say i'm a republican or i'm a democrat, as if it's a football team or something?

Surley it's logical to vote who has the best candidate for your country rather than stick to your chosen side?

The basic difference is that Republicans follow a conservative philosophy and Democrats follow a liberal philosophy. Each side holds different values.

One is pro life, the other is pro choice. One is pro enviroment, the other wants to "drill baby drill". One wants to tax more and pay off the debt, the other wants to lower taxes and give tax incentives to big oil companies and those that outsource. One wants to end the war immediately, the other wants to stay until all objectives are completed.

I'm looking forward to the day when politicians are more independant. When they can focus on the issues rather than on the basis of a political ideology or partisanship. But that will probably never happen...

It is just the party if any one is registered to.
I am registered independent. Some others are Republicans, Democrats, Green party, Libertarian, Constitution party, and a few others.

Some people want to be part of a "team". I don't get it either and have voted as an independent my whole life.

Well the Conservative republican um, never mind. That ideal has been jacked from that party by others. If they stayed more conservative and less churchy, less interested in private lives, etc. It would be a much different.

Been going on, even in the US. Just that pesky issue of federal dollars and or loosing them.
Also keyword is embryonic. Though a very good step for others very soon potentially.

I just can not wait to get past the stupid shit like gay marriage and other real non issues.
