In a bad month I make 3 million dollars. I'm only part time, and not even really a rep technically.

The real problem is most reps outgrow their position and are better off doing their own thing since they gained so much insight and knowledge during the process. Those few reps that are still with their original companies/sponsors I take my hat off to you - true loyaly.

The problem is the base is totally dependant on traffic still, so it's never a guaranteed thing. The real answer to this question comes back to the golden rule.... that is...to the person with all the gold.. haha

reps should only get a higher % and not a salary, they're not that important.

If you really think that, you are to used to seeing reps as just board whores, icq spammers, and show junkies. Those types really bring a bad rep to being a rep in my opinion.

A good rep brings much more to the table.
Be it traffic, contacts, knowledge, experience, or just plain old grunt work. They often will go beyond just gathering new affiliates. They will also go through the stats, talk with dormant accounts. They may also design, code, write, and a wide assortment of other tasks.
Sometimes a smaller program may bring on someone with much more experience for a short or long period of time, usually on a salary or salary plus commission to help guide the ship and give them insight that could take years of hands on experience to learn.

                            Wow... clueless answers here....

Remember folks... A real good rep brings knowledge in many areas to the table: Traffic building, contacts, problem solving, moderate design skills, html knowledge, PR, problem solving skills, etc.

Good reps are also loyal and don't bounce around.. There are a handful that haven't left their companies in years... I am going on Year 2 with Duke Dollars and don't plan on leaving. There is a reason for loyalty and it's not because I make $1k a month.
