When I was a kid I had a Coatimundi and it was a very cool pet.
One day the dumb ass Mailman decided to cut through my backyard
and my Coati tore him up. My Dad got rid of him after that.
These days all I have is a saltewater aquarium but I'm thinking of getting
a Panther Chameleon or a Scarlet Macaw or just play it safe with
a nice Golden Retriever

Every year they have a huge Reptile convention in Orlando and I always go and check it out. I've been learning as much as I can about them and the care they require. The Panther needs a pretty specialized habitat and it's not cheap. To walk out with the lizard and everything it needs would cost at least $500 and I don't like the looks of the cage you have to keep it in.

that's pretty standard for any reptile though. it's not a cheap hobby by any means. 2 lights and the fixtures for them i picked up the other day cost me over $100. by the time i have the tank setup and move two geckos into it, i should be sitting around $400.
