Do they teach mechanics to be crooks at school?
Every time I go to do a checkup, they always find something wrong with my car that end up costing me 100s of dollars.

Took my van to the dealer the other day and the fucknut tried to tell me I need to replace my rear axles when I change the rear bearings and seals otherwise I'll get a leak again. I was shopping around for new tires for my car, only needed the front two as it's front wheel drive and they were getting pretty bad. The fucking asshat at Costco tried to tell me he would sell me two, but he would only put them on the back of the car. I told him I needed FRONT fucking tires, not back. He said I should just buy 4 then and that way I could have new ones on the front too.
I told him to go fuck himself.
Seems anything to do with cars, people will try to fuck you over.

There is a direct corelation between the percieved value of a car and a dealers bill. Example.. throw a Lambo with a panel dent into the dealer and the bill is miles above anything the manufacturer could dream of charging - that's plus labor

I was once an ASE certified mechanic and I can tell you for sure they do teach students how to rip people off. Of course, they don't phrase it that way though. Instead, they do things like insist that if you replace brake pads, you need to replace calipers and rotors as well. This goes for a lot of parts around the car.DiaperedOnline.com - Yup. go to a new mechanic... make sure u start talking about your line of work and casually mention that you work for the IRS or BBB or something. Tell them you were referred to them because they have a good reputation for providing excellent customer care and don't take advantage of consumers.
If you think they're trying to pull the wool over your eyes, go back in with a really dodgy hat on...big thicks glasses with a black DOT in the middle + a backpack ... make it totally obvious that you're trying to secretly film it and bust them for some TV thing or something.
