Muslims Force Delay of Little Big Planet

Apparently the release of the least offensive video game in fucking history has been delayed because a backing music track in Little Big Planet has been found to contain two "expressions" that can be found in the Qur'an.

Not like I care about this game (although it does look like a bit of fun), but fucking PLEASE already. Relax. Jeez. Seriously, how many militant Muslims would actually partake of this bit of fluff? None?

Most of the games out there include killing, magic, monsters, immortal beings, gods and godesses, etc. All of those things offend some religion or another, yet they are released and sell millions of copies. Why is some freaking African music with some Islamic words enough to get them to say "Oh, ok, our bad, we'll get rid of it."

This just makes no sense on any level.

I remember reading this story and it seems nobody says who Sony is afraid of offending. Muslims or Christians.

I almost think they were more afraid of Americans finding out about it as opposed to offending Muslims, although they would never admit that. There are countless games with biblical references.

Because Christians don't normally employ children as suicide bombers that could potentially walk into any of their branch offices in the world and kill a few dozen of their staff?

There are more religions in the world than just Islam and Christianity and there is a video game out there to offend every last one of them. I think this is more about how people perceive Islam than anything having to do with what might actually happen. And believe me, I am not defending Islam.

It was indeed a group of muslims who posted a complaint on the official Sony forums. They said it was offensive to them and they asked that a patch be released to fix it.

Sony instead decided to pull the game and delay it, rather than just issuing a patch.

So ya, it was the muslims who were upset, not christians.
