I can't believe what I have been reading on this board the last two days. I used to be proud of working in an open-minded and welcoming industry. I now see that I was apparently wrong.

I am shocked and saddened by what I have read. To all of my friends, black, white, gay and straight...I am sorry for what you read here. Please know that it is not the mindset of the ones who count.

I totally agree. It really isn't hard to not use those words. I also hate that argument that whenever you point out that the words are insluting you get the excuse that everyone is too PC these days. I am not an overly PC person but just being a polite person and not using slurs isn't the same thing as being overly pc.

There are those who use those words that are and will continue to be assholes. And there is nothing you can do about it until they die. But there are others like myself and others on this board that may say it not because of lack of respect for you or others in the gay comunity but we know it will get a rise out of someone.
I come from a background where racial slurs of people are exchanged all day everyday. But when its closing time we all get a beer together and call each other brother. They are nothing more then words said by a minority of ignorant people that use them hatefully. I and others use them as a punch line. When I see someone here post that someone is a "faggot" I dont usually think of it as being homophic.

I think its just a general insult now and has lost all meaning - its like the word bastard - when you use the word you generally are not refering to their parentage.

I have actually seen very little 'real' homophobia here, it happens but the culprits are usually shot down in flames pretty quickly - and not only by BoyAlley, myself or the other "fags" on the board
